753 Days...

On Friday, I came to a sad realization that it had been 753 Days since the last time I played a gig. It was a bit disturbing but not surprising considering that the last 2 years have been extremely challenging for me in so many areas of my life. So, I decided on Sunday after watching another Bass Player that I needed to get back on the bass. It wasn't that the bass player wasn't entertaining, in fact he was happy to see me at his gig... but for once I didn't get angry, upset, or felt any real emotions... I just wanted to play my bass guitar.

So I bought some new strings and polished Charlene and Raine again... of course, I'll be working really hard for the next several weeks so I can get back to a level of being able to play. Even the calluses on my fingers are gone, so re-learning how to play is going to be very challenging indeed.

All I have currently is a practice amp, and two bass guitars. I'll have to get my basses setup again which will cost about $50 each to do. Plus the Bass Strings are $35 each, so it's not a cheap process. However, I'm confident that if I'm having fun and playing to learn and grow... I'll do fine. I just have to listen to my soul more and move forward... without delay.
