18 Miles

"Cycling can be lonely, but in a good way. It gives you a moment to breathe and think, and get away from what you're working on."
- David Byrne

It's not easy, but I wanted to try it out. Today, I'll be riding 18 miles, it's a truly historic experience for me, because I've never done it. It's not so bad to be honest, there were moments when I was like... it's hot I want to somewhere cool. But then I looked all those people riding in their air-conditioned cars, and I imagined them saying... I'm jealous or I wish I could do that.

I think so many random things in my head when I'm riding my bike during my lunch break. I think about how I shouldn't give up and how I need to pedal faster or harder. I think about how I'll feel afterwards. It's a great feeling though, and I truly love it.

Earlier I had asked my manager if he thinks I should wear sunscreen, and he laughed at me and said... You're too dark to wear Sunscreen! The reason I asked was because sometimes I look like I have a tan on my arms compared to my chest. And that's mostly because in this Sunny California weather, the sun is literally hitting me every time I ride my bike. I'm glad I stopped drinking so much booze though, because I know I would be seriously dehydrated. I have two more days of this though, it's still going to be hot tomorrow and Friday. But I'm preparing myself for those hot days when it's humid and just being outside will be painful.

I was thinking of joining a cycling team, but I need a different bike for that. I want the KHS Urban Xtreme... it's currently at $800+ at my local bike shop. It's really not that expensive either, some bike go up to $2,000... so I should consider myself lucky.
