Enemies at the Gates

 

Pick your battles wisely. Don’t dwell on the past but learn from your mistakes. Plan for the future but live a day at a time.

I never took my own advice... it’s probably just blind ignorance on my part... choosing not to see the entire board. Yeah, I'll admit it was arrogance, impatience, and just pure stupidity going into a situation that didn't have a practical outcome. Thinking back on it this morning and late last night, the end result I was looking for in my mind was different, and then the outcome that is currently in front of me. The enemies are at the gates right now, and my defenses are in shambles, and I'm exhausted and suffering each and every day... doesn't matter what plan that I come up with the motivation is lacking. I've had to research new motivation, and for a time I doubted I could even go through it, but recently I had a talk with someone that put things into the right perspective and I came to a realization... that I will always be fighting battles and wars... I just need to pick the right battles and never stop fighting.
