Every once in awhile, we all try to make things better in our lives and often times they usually fall apart. It's not that we want them to fall apart, we just simply never do them in a manner that will bring about the greatest success to our meaningful actions. During the course of my career working as an EDI Coordinator, I've realized that sometimes the way I communicate to a customer can be down right wrong, and the message in which I'm trying to convey just has fluff.
Fluff is the word my boss uses, whenever I don't say things in a clear and direct manner. And he knows I have a tendency to ramble on and add more things to an email communication that is not necessarily needed. So now, before I send an email I spend a lot of time making sure that my message or thoughts are clear and direct.
We all mean well when we want to discuss things and work things out, but if we continue to add FLUFF to the things we are trying to say it causes confusion and often times our point becomes misunderstood. I know that I have a tendency to use FLUFF whenever I'm trying to say something that is down right confusing and unclear even for myself. And I know that I can use FLUFF whenever I write these blogs. But the one thing I know is that I have to be mindful of how I sound to the person on the other end... I have to make sure that my point is coming across clear so it doesn't cause misunderstanding.
Unfortunately right now... there is massive drama in my life right now. And I hope that by this time tomorrow it will be cleared up. Because I really hate drama and I hate having my feelings hurt because someone can't simply calm their thoughts and emotions down enough so they can state the real issue and we can continue to move forward with progress. And I know that I bring emotions or attitudes to work that can simply make my job more difficult and frustrating to do. Just like my emotions can cause the real issues to become fuzzy and unclear. So even in my friendships and relationship, I always take a step back and write my thoughts down so that I can spend time making sure that the message I'm trying to convey is clear and without fluff. And I just hope that in the future the people that are most important in my life can do the same... remove the fluff and be as clear as possible.
Because let's face it, everything always sounds clear in our own heads, but that doesn't mean it can be clear and understood by others.
